Four Dances in Three Days - July 11, 12, 13, 2008

Clear your schedules, polish up your dance shoes, go to the gym a couple of extra times to get ready to enjoy our regular dances on Sunday nights AND get the extra prizes at the bottom of the cereal box smack in the middle of July.

Gaye Fifer & Wayne Albright will be in town to call some contras and teach an Intermediate Waltz lesson.  Join us for as much of the weekend as you can.

If you've never met Gaye & Wayne, they teach Waltz Lessons at about twenty dance weekends a year.  They are very much in demand for their clear teaching style, their love for dance, and their ability to break down complex moves into manageable bits.  Click here http://www.wa64.com/Waltz.html for their website and you can watch video clips of some of their lessons and/or print out descriptions of some of the moves they teach.  You can use the site to learn new waltz moves or brush up on some you may  already know.

Friday July 11 - Flash Dance in Forest Park

Flash Dance at the World's Fair Pavillion
July 11, 2008

5:00pm-???? See Flash Dance: Lions and Contras and Boats, Oh My! for times and places.

*What’s a Flash Dance?  See http://childgrove.org/flashdances/flashdance_howto.htm

Afternote: It rained, so we danced at the World's Fair Pavilion instead of the Grand Basin, and we had a great time. We used our new method of broadcasting (well, narrowcasting) music from an iPod to a group of about five boomboxes all set to the right FM frequency. The movie shown here was taken by Dan Klarmann.
