He almost single-handedly kept traditional dancing alive in several communities in southwestern Missouri. We were always pleased when he could make it up to St. Louis to play for a dance. He was named a National Heritage Fellow in 1999 by the National Endowment for the Arts. Read an Interview with Bob Holt, done by Drew Beisswenger, and this Memorial Biography by Jim Nelson.
