Flash Dance #1: Borders on Brentwood
Saturday May 31, 2008
Ever hear of “flash mobs”? They're spontaneous gatherings that bring people together on short notice for a brief period of time . Well, here's your chance to join dancers and musicians for a “flash dance” – an opportunity to waltz or contra in a public place . For more on “Flash Dances” see: http://www.childgrove.org/flashdances/flashdance_howto.htm
Borders on Brentwood is reopening and they have asked us to help them celebrate! They have invited us to dance in the store on Saturday, May 31 from 4:00-5:30pm. There will be music for waltzing piped throughout the store, and a contra line or two will probably find itself in the Self-Help section.
Place: The Borders Store on Brentwood Blvd.
The Borders Store is in the shopping mall just south of Route 64-40 on Brentwood Boulevard. It's the first store you come to in the mall if you're headed south from Route 40. If you get to the Whole Foods store you've gone too far, but you're close.
Here is a Google Map of the location.
What makes this place special?
Books! Music! Videos! Puzzles! Gifties! Coffee! Special friends (see picture to the right)!
Where else could you go to waltz and contra dance with members of the 501st Stormtrooper Legion - 70th Explorers Garrison. Their webmaster showed us their web site on his iPhone. Our webmaster thinks that Childgrove should buy her an iPhone too...
Where to park
In the parking lot. You can't miss it.
