Flash Dance #9: Wash U Medical Campus
Thursday, September 7, 6:00 pm Early!!!
We're starting a little earlier than usual - about the time our half-dozen contradancers who work near here get off work.
Ever hear of "flash mobs"? They're spontaneous gatherings that bring people together on short notice for a brief period of time . Well, here's your chance to join dancers and musicians for a "flash dance" – an opportunity to waltz or contra in a public place . For more on "Flash Dances" see:

Place: Wash U Medical Campus (in the Central West End)
Wash U’s Medical Center is located south of Forest Park Parkway and just east of BJC and Children’s Hospital. Essentially, you’re looking for what used to be the corner of Euclid and Park View Place, but Euclid is now a pedestrian area at that point.
What makes this place Special?
This beautiful part of the medical campus has a small fountain, lots of flowers, and a lot of pedestrian traffic with all the med students. It also turns out we have about a half dozen contra dancers who work in this complex. We’re starting at 6:00, earlier than usual.
How to Find Us:
Here's a map. Click the link or the map for a Google map.
- Drive to the corner of Forest Park Parkway & Euclid
- (You’ll see an Applebee’s and the Parkway Hotel on the SE corner.)
- Turn South onto Euclid (toward Appleby’s)
- Go 1 block and you’ll see the North Parking Garage on your left.
- Park in the North Parking Garage and walk out the exit.
- Look left (south) about 50 yards and you’ll see us next to the small fountains.
Hate parking garages? Metered parking is available in the area. If you’re adventurous and prefer free parking, navigate your way to Duncan Ave just east of Taylor and find the “secret” free parking on a dead-end side street off the south side of Duncan.
METROLINK
- Take Metrolink to the Central West End station http://www.metrostlouis.org/MetroLink/stationlist.asp
- Get off the train, go up the steps to Euclid, turn right and walk 1-2 blocks.
- We’ll be just past the Barnes & Noble bookstore.
