Really Important Stuff:
- We are guests in the Cuivre River State Park - obey the rules - especially
the speed limit - they do issue tickets.
- Bring 2 potluck dishes to share for Saturday and Sunday dinner.
- The whole weekend works because everyone pitches in. Volunteer for
one of the many jobs listed at registration. Help keep the cost of the weekend down, and make new friends!
- We are responsible for leaving the camp at least as clean as we found
it. Clean up after yourself and clean your cabin and shower
area before you leave.
- If you move any furniture, please put it back - we get charged if the park has to move it back.
- Register early - we fill up. Take advantage
of the discounted rates.
- Get on our email distribution list. Send email to:
kimmswick-subscribe@egroups.yahoo.com
Housing:
- Cabin space is limited. Overnight registration will be closed when
the capacity is reached.
- There is tent camping in the park, but it will probably be sold out.
You might be able to reserve a space on the park's web site.
- There are a couple of nice hotels in Troy (about 15 minutes away).
Refer to the contacts section of this document for phone numbers.
- Most of the housing is first come, first serve.
- If you have any questions or concerns, send an email to Marsha.
Things to Bring:
- Bedding - Pillows, sheets, sleeping bags, etc. Beds are bare plastic mattresses.
Bring whatever you need to be comfortable.
- Two potluck dishes to share for Saturday and Sunday dinners. (Preparation
facilities are available, but somewhat limited. We have lots of refrigerator space.
)
- Snacks or other food items. (No lunches are served.)
- Towels, soap, shampoo, etc. (We do provide toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap - but not much
else.)
- Flashlights - it is dark at night and you get to walk through the woods to some of the cabins.
- Bug repellent, sun screen - all
that outdoor stuff.
- Coffee cups and water bottles. The camp has some
and we furnish disposables - but having your own is nicer.
- Instruments and calling cards.
- Games, outdoor activities, blankets and camp chairs to sit on and other fun stuff.
- Money, if you like to buy CDs, dance clothes
and other interesting things that people have made.
Meals:
- Breakfast will be provided on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:30 to
11am and on and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am.
- You are on your own for lunch and Friday dinner.
- Famous yummy pot luck dinners are on Saturday and Sunday at 5:30pm.
- Everyone should bring a pot luck dish for Saturday and Sunday dinners.
- Kitchen facilities (limited) are available if your potluck contribution needs preparation.
- Plenty of refrigeration space in kitchen to store pot luck dishes.
- Snacks will be provided each evening during the dances.
- Everyone should pitch in to make sure meals are served on time and
clean up is completed without overworking the volunteers - they are
here to dance, too.
- Please clean up your pot luck dish immediately after dinner, and don't forget to take it home!
