How to get to Cuivre River State Park..
Cuivre River State Park is located just outside Troy Missouri - about 1 hour NW of St. Louis.
Please note: If you are coming from the Illinois side of St. Louis, beware of highway 40 (aka Interstate 64). This road is closed from Kingshighway to Route 170 for construction during the entire year of 2009. Take Interstate 70 instead, or for other alternatives, try Map My Trip from MODOT.
- From St. Louis, take highway 40 (I-64) or I-70 west to Wentzville.
- North on highway 61 - 17 miles to Troy.
- Right on highway 47
- Go about 3 miles to highway 147
- The sign for the entrance to Cuivre River Park is on the left
- In the park - continue until you see the Visitors Center on the left.
- Turn Right and follow the signs to Camp Sherwood Forest (about 5 miles inside the park).
- Don't speed in the park - they issue tickets!
